Program Overview

The Watson Leadership Development Foundation (WLD Foundation) is a non-profit founded by Kerry Watson that aims to improve diversity in healthcare leadership. Focused around mentorship and professional development opportunities, we develop programs and initiatives that support underrepresented minorities interested in pursuing successful careers in healthcare leadership.

Once selected for the program, we will pair mentees with mentors in leadership positions at various healthcare organizations. During the course of the program, the mentor will have regularly scheduled check-ins with the mentee to provide guidance through professional issues, decisions and sponsorship.

The Foundation will also host professional workshops including:

  • Resume reviews

  • Networking forums

  • Mock interviews

  • Panels on navigating the healthcare industry as a minority

  • Introductions to potential employers that will help the mentees build their careers
